Sicce 5.0 return plumbing?

I'm starting to plumb my return. I'm going to run a Sicce 5.0. I have the option of running a 3/4 inch return or a 1 inch. I'm going to do vinyl line around 6 inches to a foot off the pump then hard Pvc and T it off to feed my fuge with a Gate valve to control flow.
Which pipe size would work better?

Do you have return holes drilled in tank? If so, your bulkhead size will come in to play. I would recommend leaving it at 1" until you have to make a transition, be it a bulkhead or switching to Loc-Line over the top of the tank, if that's the route you're taking.

I personally went 1" off pump to a "T", a 3/4" manifold off one side of the "T" (to feed various equipment) and kept 1" on the other side, to the top of the tank. Then took it to 3/4" and used Loc-Line from there.

I don't have a bulkhead for my return. I'm going over the top with it. I do have Loc-line but I can just reduce it to 3/4 at the end.

So 1 inch off the pump is what I plan to do.
Should I attach the Loc-Line?

What I did was elbow the 1" into the tank (actually just above the waterline) using a threaded elbow, then reduced it with a 1" to 3/4" bushing like this. Into that bushing I installed the Loc-Line male connector like this. Then you can configure your Loc-Line returns however you choose.

Again, this is just how I did it and only one way of handling it.
