Two most like suspects for that sort of damage are being picked on, and flukes. While the picture is very good, it's not quite sharp enough to determine which it is. Considering it's a new addition, I'd recommend placing the fish in a QT and give it a fresh water dip of 1 to 5 minutes. The dip will remove any flukes, as well as confirming or ruling out that possibility. The QT will allow the wrasse to recover and heal, as well as letting you treat it should that be necessary.
