Improvement but not counting the chickens just yet!!!!!
Improvement but not counting the chickens just yet!!!!!
I would just like to start by thanking you all for your help but not counting my chickens just yet.
Here's the update.
My first attempt at medication was hyposalinity but after reducing SG down to 1.010 for around three days there was no sign of improvement, only decline.
Things started to go down hill pretty quick, my clowns stopped eating, started gasping for air at the top of the surface and rolling to their sides.
Panic stations!!!!!!!!!!!
I removed the live rock and substrate and completed a 50% water change with RO/DI mixed to 1.021, then dosed antibiotics.
My search for copper based medications such as Seachem Cupramine began but due to very little info, supplies and distributors in my area NO LUCK!!!!!!!
My only choice due to such a decline was to search for ratio’s and info on dosing with straight Copper Sulphate, not good I know but the alternative was werse.
Here’s the link to what I found.

Well, I treated as per the direction and by checking copper levels twice a day and 20% water changes each day mixed with the Copper Sulphate as per ratio's the clowns have made a dramatic improvement.
The velvet on their bodies is completely gone, they are eating, fins are raised again and breathing rate is back to what appears to be normal.
I AM A VERY HAPPY MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As stated I'm not counting my chickens just yet and will continue with treatment and water changes for some time yet so here's fingers crossed.
Thanks all for your help, will update along the way.
Cheers LOSTOZZY
