i have written before about my sick anemone, i tryed again and have been very sucessful until about 2 days ago when i noticed the clown spending more time out of the anemone, today she looks like this.

i checked the water today and found my ammonia a little high at about 0.3, when i put the anemone in it was definatly 0.0 andf nitrates a little high could there be something lurking from the dead nem, also it doesnt appear to be eating, ive tryed it with silversides it spat them out and mysis, i have also been feeding the whole tank with a bit of squid, for a second attempt im feeling quite disheartened,

hi i believe from the thread i started before to identify it that its a bleached bubbletip, what concerns me are the white bits in the middle the last one i lost looked like that too, thanks for your reply

It is very bleached, whatever kind of 'nem it is. I'm not sure what you mean by white bits, it's not clear to me in your picture. Does it look like white noodles coming out of its mouth? If so then yes it's a very bad sign. Will it eat and what have you been feeding it?

hi it wasnt eating all that well but ive given it a silverside and its taken it and closed up around it, its looking quite well at the mo, i was reading another tread about other tank inhabitants stealing, so i fought off a brittlestar who was attempting too, there are no noodles so tyhats a good sign, its mouth was looking quite open but not gaping, the bright white bits seem to stand out more ill post a pic, is there anything i can do about the bleaching, i bought i like this, i light 2 x 150 watt mh from 2pm to 8pm, daily moonlight through the night.

well i have resored my faith in humanity and look at the anemone now, it has taught me how quickly these things can become sick and perk up again, its like a baby, after the loss of my first i was really quite disheartened, but now im very happy, thanks for your support

It's looking better, that's for sure. Good job so far! It's still quite bleached but if you continue feeding it I should eventually get the color back.
