Sick Baby Clown - Need Diagnosis Help!

Hope somebody can help me.

There are small white spots that have appeared on my baby clown. They were present right after I purchased him and got him home. I promptly did a freshwater dip for ten minutes before introducing him into my aquarium (I do not have a QT tank).

The white spots have become steadily worse, although the clown doesn't seem to mind them. They are starting to get somewhat fuzzy like a fungus, but not really fuzzy like most fungi I have seen.

He eats well and seems happy. I am wondering if this is something I should try treating with Formalin if the actual cause of the spots is Brooklynellosis.

I attached a picture for reference:

I can't see any of the spots you mentioned, in the photo you provided.

Brooklynella is not known for causing spots. You might want to read up on that disease:

White spots are usually Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) when they are about the size of salt; or Marine velvet when they are much smaller, like powdered sugar. You may want to read up on both:

(Part 2):

and for velvet:

If one of those don't help you with the diagnosis, there are self-diagnosis web sites that you can try. A link to the site that has links is this:

After you've waded through all that, I will emphasize the need to perform quarantine and in the case of wild caught anemonefishes, a prophylactic treatment for Brooklynella. For info on quarantine, look here:

I hope one or more of the above will help.

Good luck!
