Sick Goldfish!!! Please Help!!!

My Goldfish, (Goldie) of the last 14 years, is in bad shape. It swims into the side of the tank and bumps its head very often. This has caused a large lump on the top of his head. I was thinking about taking Goldie to the vet but I am afraid they would tell me to flush him to end his pain. I can't give him the royal flush. Goldie also has had a turd about 2 inches long that he can't pinch off, should I help pinch it off?

Yes this is very serious, my goldfish has been a very important part of my life! Goldie is my world, i don't know what I would do without my Goldie! But the feces hanging from his anus cavity has caused great concern! I also noticed a pink goo coming out of his gills, so PLEASE can you help me, anybody please post and give me advice!

On a related note, can goldfish even live to be 14 years old? I know Koi can... but goldfish?

If this is somehow a serious post; there must be a goldfish forum, or goldfish forum section on any FW forum, somewhere; I doubt you'll find many goldfish turd experts here. If things go south: would having a goldfish "bronzed" as a memento be degrading?

This is for the people who have denied me help with my best friend in the world "Goldie the Goldfish". I just woke up and found Goldie floating belly up, blood coming from her gills, and yes the feces were still attached and hanging. In desparation I attempted mouth-to-gill resuscitation, it did not work! I'm at home leaning over the toilet, first I had to vomit, and now I have to bury my dear friend at sea through the waterways of the Detroit sewer system. I dont know what cruel and inhuman sights she will encounter on her journey to glory, and once again THANKS forum friends!!!!!

Yep, especially "comet" or "feeder" goldfish. Even the fancy (round bodied) ones can go multiple decades.
