sick grouper what to do?

About 2 weeks ago my tank had a bad case of ich. I lost a couple of fish but was able to save my black spotted grouper. When i first put him into a qt tank he could only move one flipper and swam sideways.. He has since improved greatly. He swims normal now and is eating well agian. The problem now is he has faded splotches all over him. Is there something else wrong with him? I have been treating him with formalin and zinch free malchie green. Ive been doing 50% water changes every other day because of the lack of a decent filtration. I really want to make sure he is not getting sick with something else.

Thanks for the link.. His color looks faded like the last fish on the page. If that is the case sounds like he is just stressed.. wich would make sence since he hadnt eaten for the first week and as hard as i try to keep the water quality good in the qt just isnt that good. Ill just keep watching him closely.. I tried to get a picture but he just runs from pvc tube to tube like a dam hamster.

Thanks for the welcome..

Well after measuring the water parameters in the qt the amonia and nitrites were at dangerous levels and that was with a 50% water change this morning. So ive decided to move him into the main tank. He hasnt shown signs of ick for a week and the only other fish in there is a dwarf lion about the same size as him.
Its now time to rethink the qt tank
Heres a picture of him acclimating

thanks for another excellent link kraze3. Ive been feeding a good variety of frozen foods and fresh salt ghost shrimp just never thought of diping it in vitamins first.
Btw the grouper is doing better. His color is still faded but he is much more active and is chasing the ghost shrimp around the tank. gets to them before the lion can.

Well all color has returned to normal and he looks very happy agian. Hes one tough fish went from swimming sideways with only one flipper to perfectly healthy agian
