Sick Niger Trigger

I have a 3-4" trigger that I recently purchased from my lfs. He has been in my display for about a week. He was at the lfs for about 3 weeks before I purchased him. Today, I noticed that one of his eyes is cloudy and slightly swollen. Just wandering if I should try some sort of treatment, and if so what? or should I just see if it will clear up on its own. He is eating normally and has big appetite. Hides alot, but I figured that this was normal being a new edition to the DT. Any advise or thoughts would help.
Thanks,
Matt

It's called popeye, due to a bacterial infection and swelling within the skull.

Treat with a broadspectrum antibiotic (Furan, Maracyn, Metronidazole) ideally within the food. If you can't get him to eat it, you need to take him to a hospital tank and treat the water in that tank. Do not medicate your display.

Should I just soak some of his food in it and try and feed it to him in the display, or should I just get him out and feed in hospital tank. If I can get him to eat it, how much and often should I be feeding it to him. Will it get better on its own without treatment. I don't have any meds right now, what kind of time frame should I be looking at (couple days to get meds, or like 24 hrs) I do have a hospital tank set up but, haven't treated any fish in it yet, no meds in it, just some pvc pieces, some live rock rubble, and a blue damsil.
Any help or advice on treatment needed!!!
Thanks
Matt
