Hoping that someone can help me out here.
I have had these Moon Polyps for almost a year and they were doing quite well up till about a week ago when I noticed that some of them were not opening on the one side of the rock. The ones that are not open also seem to be disintegrating and I can blow off material from them with a bayster.

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, (I really need lessons).
Nothing has changed as far as water quality, lighting ect.
Any suggestions? More flow maybe?

I would try giving them more current to knock off as much of the necrotic tissue as possible. You might still be able to save some. Some of the tissue might regenerate into frags. I have done it with clove polyps before, so it might work

Are there any snails down between the polyps, if there are these guys are pests and will eat the polyps, i cant remember the name of the snails, someone help out please ?

What's your current magnesium level?

If you want to save the rest of the colony you are going to need to cut away or remove any of the polyps that are currently effected with the sliming. Best to do this out of your tank or with a syphon going.

Whenever plays or zoos get this condition I recommend removing them ASAP to stave off the progression towards the healthy polyps.

I moved the colony to a higher water movement area and they seem to be doing better. In fact some of the closed up polyps are opening up a little.

I don't see any snails around the polyps unless they would be really tiny and I cant see them.

Aquabucket, with this new developement should I still cut off the ailing polyps? As for magnesium I just ordered that and an Iodine kit but they have yet to arrive.

Thats good news.

If the polyps are improving than just keep an eye on them if they start to degrade again I would seriously consider culling out the bad polyps.

Good call on the mag kit!

Keep us posted.
