sick yellow tang

I've had my yellow tang for about 5 years. He has been getting skinnier and skinnier the last couple weeks. I didn't think much about it because he was eating like mad. Now today he is lying on the bottom upside down. He is looking really bad. I moved him to the fuge so he wouldn't get picked on. Any ideas? Treatments? Thanks for the help.

Almost sounds like internal parasites.

Formalin is good for this but you have to catch it early. It may be too late.

Usually, with a fish that you've had for awhile, the first sign of trouble, you need to take action.

Is he/she still alive ?

Can you provide a picture? Does the fish have stringy poop? What are you feeding your fish and how much?

I am unsure whether your fish has an internal parasite .. however if your fish has an internal parasites formalin would not be on my recommended treatment list.
