lol... Tempting as that is, I'm of a mind to stop trying to "place" the thing and let it just keep rolling around. I'm thinking one of two things will happen. Either it'll finally find a place it likes and settle in -or- I will have the experience of finding out what a melted 'nem smells like. Water quality is all up to snuff. I'm hoping for the former... but realistic enough to prepare for the latter.

Same. It's been the same for over a week now which is why I was beginning to be concerned. Taking advice and having some patience.

Umm... so yeah... after a week of not opening and all this conversation? Apparently Kat snuck over to my house while I was at work and sprinkled some magic dust on it or something. lol

Here 'tiz... starting to open back up!

Thanks to all for the info. I'm not sure if I should feel like an idiot or what but I'm glad it's coming back around regardless.

ive noticed if you turkey baste it slightly it tends to quicken the process.. or it could possibly be in too low of flow in the first place.. its really only on its way out when you see it literally disintegrating and turning black. when that happens you frag out whatever isnt turning black and mount that separately, then throwing out the dying pieces.

It was worse than dieing LPS and SPS, but not worse than a melted anemone, I don't think anything is.

good god that stuff stays on your hands for awhile... the only thing worse than getting a good whiff of dead anemone is sticking your head next to a fresh pile of elephant droppings.. and even then its a close call. so moral of the story is: if you have a dead nem in your tank... use gloves or a bag.

Ah, good info. Initially when it started shrinking and getting shiny it was actually getting blasted with flow in a temporary spot. I then moved it next to the other similar softie for a couple days until I was able to make some adjustments and find a better spot for it. So maybe the combo of too much flow and then sitting next to another softie irked it?

Will keep a lookout for any dead block spots on my softies. That's helpful info that there's at least sometimes a sign that action is needed. Thank you
