Does saltwater erode silicon?

They make aquarium silicone some can be applied underwater some cant, i just resiliconed my old tank, saltwater wont erode it

thanks for clarifying... I'm thinking of using it to glue some baffles into a regular 20 gal and using it as a sump

i think you want the aquarium variety 100% silicone no mildew or mold resistant additives.

once cured silicon shouldn't be effected by saltwater. silicone releases amonia in the curing proccess so make sure it is fuly cured before exposing livestock to it.
