I know I'm crazy, but I have a question. I am sitting here watching Animal Planet about sea creatures and I wondered something. Why could we not house animals that are in the dark waters, like the ones that light up at night? Is it the deep waters pressure that would keep us from being able to do that? Their are some extreely cool animals.

I think that is the reason. They seem to have to keep them in pressurized container just to get them to survive long enough to make it to the lab. Or at least that is how is seems when I watch those shows.

yeah, I know the ones really deep would definately not make it, but I wonder about the ones that are just below the depth for photosynthesis, isn't that only like 300 feet down? I know there is more pressure the deeper down you go though. Just seems like it could be emulated, especially for large business aquariums.

You could keep lantern fish I supose but you would need to to keep the tank in total darkness for the fish to be happy and your not going to enjoy a total dark tank that much at least I don't think you would.

something like that would be cool to have like in your bedroom, like if you had an area that was closed off during the day for darkness, like a nook with a pocket door, to open at night, the lantern type fish would light up throwout the night, wouldn't that be cool? It would be something completely different for sure, lol.

I think it's also temperature. The lower you go, the colder the water gets.

yes, that too, so I guess a chiller would be a must, thanks Brock, thats something I probably would not have thought of.
