simple fish trap?

i need to catch an elusive damsle.. i heard of easy to make fish traps but don't remember how, someone refresh me? or has a fish trap i can borrow?

I made one from a two liter bottle, cut the top off, glue it back on with inwards, poke a string through it, add some bait and go fishing. worked for me a couple times

You cut the "neck" of the bottle off big enough for the fish to get in...

I went fishing in my tank and caught my blue hippo.

got my tangs to go in first then sixline would go in after. That was how I got my sixline. But before that, used it to catch a 3 stripe damsel. Works like a charm.

I have had a lot of success with the 2L bottle trick. Most times, I can catch the fish within an hour of introducing the trap. That is, except for the my elusive 3yr old Coral Beauty.

Or early in the morning,when still dark ,shine the light right on it and scupe it with a net.just feed it to your lion fish.

The bottle works, but you can’t control what fish swims in. so I made one out of acrylic where I can control the door. So I only catch the right fish less stress on the innocent victims, my 2cw..
