siphon break help

if I have 4 locline returns and comes from one line.

and I have 1 of the loclines pointing up to the top, will this 1 locline be enough for a siphon break for all 4?

If the line from the pump comes up and over the back of the tank then branches out to the four locline, then the siphon over the back of the tank should break as soon as one of the locline outlets is exposed to air.

Once you plumb it, test it by unplugging the pump.

The way the line is ran, it comes from 1 line from the pump and goes left to right. From the left to right, there are 4 lines going up to the 4 bulkheads.

All 4 bulkheads are exited thru the loclines.

I have 1 locline with a 1/4" HOLE drilled and sitting right below the waterlevel. Will this HOLE on the locline be enought to break siphon?

I got one shot because everything is being glued. So if this does work, then I dont need 4 check valves...

As long as you make sure one loc line is close to the surface that should be sufficient. It only takes a small amount or air to disrupt the backsiphon. I would assemble everything, fill the system and experiment with the levels until you establish a safe point in the sump. Mark that point wiht a sharpie and never ever fill past that point or lower the loc line any lower than where it is. If the loc line gets moved the sump level changes on a power outage.

You could also try several small holes, i experienced the same problem the first time i turned off my return, and then drilled 4 1/16" holes just below the waterline to break the siphon. it works like a charm on the 3/4" pipe and has a HUGE added bennie ... perfect surface agitation to help it sparkle!

I think that since you are using four separate bulkheads, you would need a siphon break hole on each outlet. I am pretty sure that the other drains in-line would not stop just because one of the siphons was broken. There would still be water in the tubing to continue the siphon. I do not want to bet my life on this, but a quick "power-down" cycle would let you know if they are required.
