six line has tiny white spots

I got a new six line cheap, but unfotunately had to go through a long day of stress before it went in the tank. I thought something might be wrong with it right away and it's not eating very aggressively. I've had fish with ich before and these white spots seem to be very tiny, smaller than what i've seen before. I'm using extra reef vital dna which is supposed to prevent the things from sticking to fish, I guess we'll see if it works. Does this thing have a 50/50 chance? It's tail has gotten pretty beat up. Does anybody think the thing can recover or is it a goner?

There is such a thing as marine velvet (much finer grains than ich, like dusted confectioner's sugar rather than grains of salt), but it's rarer, and my bet is that this is still ich. Sometimes the individual parasites (the white spots) are just encapsulated more singly than others, and this is the most common disease seen after stress. I hope he was quarantined first... if not I'd get him in your sick tank ASAP!
