Thanks!

they can be real pitas...
with the flame in a 37, I would say you are maxed...

I agree with both points. Definitely no to the Sixline (they have their reputation for a reason). And with the 5 fish you have in there now, you are well stocked; any more fish and I would say you would be overstocked.

Edit: If you relocate the Flame, then you could do one smaller fish. But I would advise against the Sixline either way as mentioned.

I didn't have issues with a Sixline, but many people have. Smaller sized tanks can make them more aggressive. I'd also worry about your shrimp/crabs.

If you will not be adding any fish after the 6 line it should be fine as their aggression is usually toward fish added after them or other wrasses.

As for as the overstocked comments, if your parameters are in the acceptable levels, than you are not overstocked, but it varies from reefer to reefer based on diligence and commitment to necassary maintanance.

And as far as the inverts, all of the ones mentioned on your list should be safe from a 6 line except the hermits, and even they will be fine if you start with a small enough individual.

The one in favor is 1 1/2", i have some expensive hermits in though, 4 scarlet reefs, 2 haloweens, and 1 electric blue so i would like to keep them lol. My perameters are good, tank is a year and a few months old.

Thanks

IME; Sixlines are fine when small, but usually turn aggressive as they grow. Might also start picking at your snails once it gets bigger.

All of mine are banded trochus, theres like 15 of them and a few nassarius. So would he become a model citizen after a while?

The nassarius should be fine, as those mostly come out at night. But a few of the trochus might get eaten (this usually only happens once the sixline is fully grown, so it will be a couple of years).

I've also had pretty good luck with sixlines eating flatworms (if you have that problem). But I also recently lost one in a 29 gal frag tank (he was clearing out flatworms) because I didn't have a cover on the tank. They like to jump!

Might be worth a read to ya:

i would advise against a 6 line, although i only tried one. it started out as a beautiful model citizen. i had him for about 3 months before i started having issues. then he started seriously harassing my purple firefish and picking at coral. it figured out that if it repeatedly bit at my acans and scolies, they would open their mouth. he would take the food out of their mouth, drop it, and go to the next like it was a game! i made a trap and gave it away! pita!!!

there are many other beautiful fish that don't have that reputation. some 6 lines seem fine... at least for awhile, but why take the chance? i did, and got burnt! never again...

imo, looks like you are probably maxed out on stock anyway. parameters aren't everything... you have to think about swimming and personal space for them.

I would wager that the six line would destroy your firefish after he settles in. Think purple pseudochromis with some bony bits on their lips.

Look into a redline wrasse. Similar look but much more peaceful. Better colors IMO and stays small, although still a little bigger than sixline.

I love my Randall, mine is a fatso in need of a weight watchers membership. Try a variety of foods until you can get him eating something. There isn't anything that mine won't eat unless it bites back.

I agree with the above comments on the sixline, they are known to be snots & definitely don't mix with firefish.
