Sixline Wrasse

I know people have had mixed results with these guys, but I just wanted to share my experience with them. I bought mine about 3 weeks ago. He's in a tank with a pair of clowns, a psuedochromis, and some blue/green Chromis. I've heard some bad things about these guys, but I love their coloration so I bought one. Mine has been the perfect fish! He actually swims out in the open with the clowns and Chromis. At first, he was shy and hid in the rocks, but now he swims about with everyone else. I may have just been the exception, but I wanted to share this. You see Edsimmons, not ALL Sixlines are evil!!! lol :rollface:

I had one for 8 months before I sold my tank.

she was just fine. They are good fish IMO

You will like her.

They are good fish till you try to add a fairy/flasher wrasse that's similar in size then you will see the aggression that these fish can and will display.

I'm not saying they are bad I'm just say that they will limit the types of other fish you can add.

They are great fish, but will end up ruling your tank. The only downside is, like Ed says, adding other fish later becomes problematic. I still plan on getting one once my 250 is up and running, AND I have added all the fish I plan on. It was funny when my last one tried to bully the purple tang when I added it. Needless to say, the PT was having any and the 6 line backed off.

^ Like Ed said, if you add any other wrasse into the tank after the 6 line is established i hope you have a tight fitting lid! Mine forced a wrasse up and out of the water about 5 seconds after i introduced it. Luckily there was nowhere to go for the wrasse except into my overflow.

Lol, I hope mine doesn't do anything like this! I don't plan on adding anymore fish to my tank so hopefully I dont encounter this issue. If you want Ed, I could catch him for you and place him in your wonderful tank!!! lol

my experience with these cool looking fish is that they get mean. You pretty much can't add any other fish after the sixline. I had a friend who had one coexist with a pair of clowns but then he went all jekl and hyde and began to harass them until they were left in a corner of the tank.

My 6line killed my mystery wrasse and made my carpenter wrasse carpet surfing.
