skimmer 240/3 - base detached

While cleaning the skimmer the lower part of the skimmer casing (round section) came off - looks like it's meant to but noticed there was silicone or glue round the inner rim.

Should this be glued back on or just a new bead of sealant round it?

Skimmer is reassembled and working but some bubbles are escaping round the join - running about a week since cleaning.

Thanks,

Daniel

The silicon is a seal, if you did not remove the old bead of silicon you don't need to redo it. The plate is held in place at each end by a tab and by the pump plate. If you did remove the silicon or it came loose you will want to put a new bead of silicon down.
