Skimmer Advice

I found a deltec MCE 600 for 300 bucks, I was considering buying. Would this be good for a 50gal, or should I head the Tunze 9005 or 9010. I want Hang on Tank for the time being. I have a ps160 for when I move to sump.

I currently have no skimmer on my tank, which I would like to remedy as fast as possible. Doing lots of water changes now.

its one of the best HOB skimmers out there compared to a aquac remora... I have one running in my 100gal full reef...

I also made a little skimmer for it too.. let me guess Craigslist ?

I knew... I was thinking about that too.. but held...

it came with the output mod too right? Mce's are great skimmers will skim like crazy as they are very sensitve to changes in the tank... especially with water changes, which is why deltec only recommeds 1 10% waterchange per month only is needed.

I dont know if it comes with the output mod, I just emailed and asked now.

How often do you clean the pump on yours? I saw on another thread you recently had an event in your tank. Was the skimmer not skimming enough?

it was... just a series of events that occured all at the same time which the system/skimmer etc couldn't handle all at the same time... but I do plan to get another MCE600 and ditch my HOB sump with skimmer...

Mine comes with the output mod ( aids in bubbles ), media addition.
