Skimmer Body Mods

I'm curious if any one has ever tried to modify the base of a skimmer body external skimmer by putting fittings to directly inject effluent from a Ca Rx, or ozone Rx, if so has it worked, and what precautions should one take? I'm trying to figure a way to inject 100% of the effluent into my skimmer. But would hate to try it and ruin a $500 skimmer.

As you know I was injecting both Ca effluent and O3 into my AquaC EV-180. Never had any issue whatsoever. Works like a charm.

I'm wondering if you could make it work on a reef octopus though.
