Skimmer choices

Slief thanks for the reply that was the exact answer I was looking for. I do believe that's the problem I'm having with my SCA 302. [Ssteve] Which by the way I don't think is a bad skimmer I just think it's a little too big for my system. So I guess that answers my question the aquamaxx co1 it is. Case closed.

The sca skimmers are just natoriously difficult to dial in and need constant monitoring to get good consistent skim. You can run a good quality over sized skimmer without a problem, plenty of people do it as the heart of their systems and have no other filtration.

I think the co1 is a great fit and will do a whole lot better for you in the long run.
