Skimmer during cycle?

I have to turn on my skimmer?? my tank is cycling fishless . Just add ammonia..

Either way should be fine. Running the skimmer might help save life on the live rock, if there is any live rock, and can help keep the oxygen level up, but I doubt that it matters very much.

+1 to this. If nothing else, it will give you practice in setting the water level in the skimmer, and also "break it in" (i.e., coat the interior surfaces with organics).

Ok. thank you.. but i forget to say that the rock is "dry rock"

It should be fine either way. I'd turn on the the skimmer, but it's going to make a large difference if there's no animals in the rock.
