skimmer footprints

Are the advertised footprint dimensions of common in-sump skimmers (e.g. AquaC EV, ASM, ETSS Reef Devil) all accurate and comparable? Do they all include the pump?

I just glued in my baffles for a 12" wide sump and I only left 6" in the other dimension because of the AquaC website. Now I'm worried that the EV 120 or 180 footprint doesn't include the pump.

Simmers don't usually come with pumps unless stated, you should've waited til you got hte skimmer to place in your baffles though, but they are usually very accurate.

AqauC does not include the pump in their dimension listing. You need to add the space for the pump. But, the pump is connected with tubing, so you can move it around a bit, or even pipe it in from another chamber.

Hmm, I think I might raise the skimmer on a platform and put the pump underneath. Then if there's room, I'll squeeze the drain pipe from the tank next to the skimmer so the water exits right near the skimmer pump's intake.

Will that work?
