I had mine modded with a taller 'reaction' chamber. Been quite happy with it. Plus, I've known the MTC chaps for many decades and nobody makes better quality equipment.
Occupational hazard  Recently replaced my sump and used that as an opportunity to organize the wires and pipes a bit better - but only a bit! Pump is actually a Blueline 40/PanWorld 100.
Is my second oldest running piece of equipment. I've modded it a bit (pH probe port, smaller circulation pump, masterflex feed) but it's been a terrific perfomer.
Initially I was thinking about drilling the lid, but a tap set is one of the few tools I don't own; so I just plumbed it into the circulation pump. Works fine.
You will also have to change the way the water flows between chamber one and two to prevent air from building up. I just used the red vent line from chamber one to feed chamber two.
