Skimmer for 60 cube

Hello all, I haven't owned a skimmer in over 10 years. I got out of the hobby for a while and now have a Nano w/o a skimmer but recently purchased a 60 cube for a new mixed reef build. I have not yet built a sump until I purchase my skimmer. I will have probably 5 fish and assorted coral and I'm really partial to LPS. So far a I am leaning towards a SWC Xtreme 120 or a Bubble Magus Curve 5. Anyone have a preference between those two or a suggestion for something else entirely?

Thanks in advance!!

if you have the budget for it then look at the ConeS CO 1 from aquamaxx. Mine is a quiet, outstanding performer. They sell out faster than retailers can keep them on the shelves. (2 to 3 weeks before next shipment)

If the ones you list are more in the range you are looking for then I would lean more towards the Curve. Better design and the rock pumps are a step up from the atmans that SWC uses. The 120 also has a poor neck transition IMO (own one).

We are running a Vertex Omega 150 on our 60 gallon cube. It's quiet and pulls lots of gunk every day :)

Thanks Reeftivo!! I wasn't aware of that one and for $50 more than the other two I am looking at it seems like that is the skimmer to get! I saw your thread dedicated to that skimmer and you seem to know your stuff when it comes to FISH WASTE REMOVAL!! Thanks for the tip, looks like the skimmer for me!

Great!

Mine is still chugging along without issue. Let us know how it performs for you!

Happy reefing!
