Skimmer for a small tank

Hey roger

I'm setting up a small 6 gallon aquarium that will have 10 gallons of water in the sump so about 16 gallons of total water. Would The 9004 work or would you recommend I wait for the new 9001? I don't mind just doing water changes and waiting for the 9001 if it will perform better. Your thoughts?

Thanks as always!

I am have a standard 10 gallon reef tank. I have tons (almost!) of corals, zoas and various polyps and two fish (a Tailspot blenny and a yellow Clown Goby). I feed a small amount of food twice daily and do a 1.5 gallon water change once a week.

I don't have a skimmer, and all is well.

I do have a small HOB refugium with chaeto and filter media. Will you be growing macro algae in your sump? If so, it'll help remove/reduce pollutants.

My concern would be their may not be enough for a consistent skimming from the 9004 and microbubbles could be an issue. I think the 9001 would be the better candidate.
