Skimmer Help Please

schnebbles

So, I'm not so bright about this.

I got a HOB Reef Octopus. Put it on, filled it and plugged it in and it wants to be bubbling enough to want to push the lid off of the collection cup.

Do I need to adjust something? I couldn't find a good youtube video on this one. I assembled it like it said and did nothing else as far as adjusting.

I can't attach the stupid thing with the bracket/screw unfortunately due to my glass lid. I suppose I could cut that long plastic screw off if I needed to.

It doesn't really have one. I'll look to see if I can find something better online. It only said to hob and start it. And a diagram of how to put it together.

Model number?
classic 90? 1000? 2000?

From one of the manuals..
Installation
1. Install the skimmer according to the illustration. Hang it on the back of tank, tighten
screw and make sure it’s fixed.
2. Put the water in to the skimmer chamber until the water level up to 8 inch, switch off
the air valve completely, start the power. After seconds, turn on the air valve as soon
as the the pump works properly. When the bubbles coming out perfectly, replace the air
valve by the silencer.
3. Adjust the water outlet, so that the bubble stopper could come out a little bit from
surface.
4. If power off or shut down in certain circumstance, restart from step 2.

Thank you. It's a 100. I hadn't gotten to look up manuals yet. Had to take cat to the vet.
