Octopus DNW-150 Needlewheel Recirculating

Euro Reef 135

MRC MR-1
(175gal)
275.00

What do you use and which do you prefer?

By most people's account they are expensive, but I LOVE my ER 135...it sucks an amazing amount of scum out of my 125. Very easy to set up and get "skimming."

Everyone likes the ER but from what I see they all have the exact seeming same build design so what makes the ER better compared to the Recirculating for the same price for example?

O2, the ER is a built-proof Skimmer with great service, It is not just what you pay up front, I think the others might preform ok even next to the ER. How long will they last and what is it going to be like getting parts for them or do you just have to toss them in the trash in 5 years.

I replaced the pump and rubber on my 5 year old ER 5-2 with just a phone call, now it will last for another 5 years. It is just like brand new and will sell for close to what I paid for it new.

Can you say that about the Octopus or MRC?

Joe, I really don't think its fair to put the Deltec in with that group :)

Great skimmer but not in the price range of the average reefer.

i like my er-8-3 works really well .
but does any one know if you can get a new intake part for a sedra 5000

ahh eric splurge and get a bubbleking with the red dragon pumps

yeah, I picked up a ER135 but I am thinking of going the extra 100 bucks and upgrading it to a Er185 I think the model is now. I am thinking of when I upgrade my tank next to the 120-140 range :)
