Skimmer pump size?

I have a MRC MR-3 skimmer with one beckett injector. I'm going to upgrade it to a dual beckett and was wondering what size pump should i use to drive it?

IMO get rid of it and get a neddle wheel cone, Even a cheap Octo with Bubble blaster pump will out perform and save you tons of electricity costs. Plus not always having to fiddle with it and clean injectors etc. But this is just an opinion so don't be offended please.

Not offended at all, I know its not the best, but its all i have at the moment. I plan on upgrading this in the future and some type of skimmer is better then nothing. Plus since my tank is just getting started, the bio-load is going to be kept low until i can afford to get a needle wheel. I just know that with beckett's they like powerful pumps to work good, but i don't want go to big either cause of cost.

Cloud, the single becket works well in the 1000gph range with a good pressure rated pump. I have an MR2 now and it is running on my main pump (barracuda) and gets most of the volume. the rest of the water is ues for my tank return, the chiller circuit, pellet reactor, UV and CA reactor. I have plenty of leftover pressure and water as well. that Cuda is rated at 4600gph.... remember, you can always throttle it back, but cant always boost it. Im sure you could get away with a used dart (3600gph). Bill and I both have an extra we are selling but depending on your timetable, i may be willing to let you borrow mine.

also, isnt the only difference between the two just the height of the neck? I will be adding a second beckett to mine as well hopefully. maybe when you upgrade, ill get yours and part it out...HA

I also have a barracuda and had it split into 3 pipes. 2 for the return a 1 for the skimmer when the tank was last running. Now that i'm replumbing my tank i was thinking of adding a 2nd injector and getting a dart just for the skimmer. What kind of price are you thinking on the dart. I LOVE the reefflow pumps, they seem to have a very low watt draw compared to other pumps..
