Skimmer pump

Hello Roger
I have a 220.04A skimmer pump that is acting up? Do they have a thermal shut down feature? I runs for about 5 minutes then cuts out for a couple then back on. It is submerged about half way in the aquarium, 80/F. I have dismantled and cleaned the impeller/brakes seem functional. It does (pump) seem to be a tad warmer than the aquarium! Hope the move is smooth!

They do have a thermal shut off. Just finished the move and it was smooth as far as moves go but still it wasn't fun. Internet just started working around 4pm. I would send the pump in for a look over as too many trips of the thermal braker can ruin the pump for good.

Doug, the motor coil is faulty, it is an older pump, likely it ran seized for a while. I can offer you a used replacement for $30. I would recommend a new 3000.60 drive unit but yours isn't in bad shape, maybe just installl the new one and keep the old one as a spare as the new one tends to precipitate less lime.

Hello Roger
I'll take the used motor and the new 3000.60. Send me a PM with the final cost, and I'll send back a CC#. Thanks again for the prompt service!

Hello Roger
I received the pump and have reinstalled the skimmer. Thanks for helping me get it back on line quickly, even during the move!
Now, if I'm not to late to get that wave box from Larry?
