Looking for advice on what skimmer to get for 180g DT. Sump will be either 29g or hopefully a 55g if I can find a cheap tank on craigslist.
I'm looking for the best bang for my buck.
Thanks
58g w/ 30 sump looking to spend under $3 on it. Any ideas?
Hi, I am looking for a skimmer to fit into the back of a bio cube, I heard the oceananic ones are bad news... can someone help me out on whichones can fit into the back chamber and actually be worth my money? thanks
Hey Mojo I am currently running a swc 160 on my 50 gallon with 20ish gallon sump. In my opinion its a nice skimmer but I would like to go a different route. I currently have 7 fish plus a bunch of snails so I guess a decent size bio load. Was wondering for around $300 what would be a decent upgrade from the swc 160? thnx in advance
I would look at the super reef octo 1000 series. really good fit and a better pump.
I was looking at that but I dont think I would be able to run my sump water level low enough to accomodate that skimmer. I was looking at the Aquamaxx 100 or 150 the Reef Octopus XS 160 or one of the new Skimz skimmers not sure which one yet though if you have any suggestions please let me know
the output is how you adjust the water level inside the skimmer. THere are many people that remove this and put on a gate valve. You can do that and put the gate valve down as low as you want. This is a pretty common mod.
