Thanks for the reply. was asking as the BH2000 is only $20 more which isn't much difference is price but a lot of difference in tank volume it can handle. Lol i dont know which to get. If i got the BH2000 would it tend to over skim in my 35 gal thanks for the reply
hey guys, wow so confusing, sro, vertex, bubble king, aquamaxx, bubble magnus rlsi or something.
i am setting up a new 1100 fowlr, which will start with around 20 3-4" fish. at first i was set on a sro but now it seems aquamaxx is the better skimmer![]()
any recommendations by the skimmer experts would be appreciated. my old tank was a 550 g fowlr with a volcano skimmer from spazz with a dart needlewheel.
another question: should i start with a smaller skimmer and add another later once the fish mature a little?
how is the aquamaxx better than the sro, the pump?
1100 gallon tank? You need to be looking at something like a lifereef Vs3-72!
Two cone 7's.What about 2 aquamaxx cone 6 ?
How about only one of these.

Wouldn't two cone 7's be equivalent?
For 1100 gallons two cones 7's would work just fine. You'll need a huge sump to accommodate two 16" diameter skimmers though.
@Wellcraft25 - Stick with a good 6" body skimmer. In my opinion you will not have enough bioload to go with an 8" body skimmer, and I think you'd get more consistent results with the 6" body. Take a look at the Vertex Omega 150, Aquamaxx CO-2, or Octopus Prime 150. All would handle your system just fine and come in at the sub $400 price tag shipped to your door.
