skimmer question

On the gate valve, what part is it called to connect the gate valve to the box on a becket skimmer. Whats it called?

I have a bulkhead to attach the gate valve, will this work? Or will it leak over time?

I noticed that manufactured skimmers use some pvc wich they glue to the acrylic, pvc can be glued to acrylic?

The bulkhead will either be threaded or slip (on the inside). That is the attachment point. The external threads usually do not fit normal plumbing.

What kind of valve is it? Slip or threaded?
