i recently upgraded to a 210g tank and need to get a bigger skimmer and would like suggestions on skimmers size/type std or recurc also what size sump would you use?
thanks for any and all help...

it really depends on what the tank is going to have in it coral and fish wise.what do you have in mind?

it will have softies and some lps and fish. i was gonna use my 55g for the sump if i can get it drilled.

I used a euro reef rs250 on a 200g w/ a 75g tank for a sump half full of water. It worked really well for me.

well you have to figure you need to skimmer rated at least 270g,problem is the skimmers get really expensive for that size.are you working on a budget?if so how much are you looking to spend?i can think of a few skimmers of the top of my head but they are all in the 1k price range :(

the euroreef Billy mentioned is around $500 and would probably fit your needs.

budget for sure!!! i dont want to sell one of my bikes to get a skimmer :) what about using 2 smaller skimmers? i have one from the 55g or should i use 1 bigger one?

Power consumption wise i think you would be better off with 1 skimmer. If you had the room i dont see a problem with running 2.

well you have to figure if you go new minimum $500+ and up.im not sure how it would work with 2 skimmers but dont see it not working.keep your eyes open for a good used skimmer on the boards,i know one is for sale now and it is a good skimmer,im not sure of its tank size ratings.

i would look into the 200 model from octopus. i love mine. i would have bought the recir for just a few dollars more if i could go back and make sure you order the gate valve mod - the whole thing should be just over 250 if that. really cheap
