Skimmer question

I have seen several people say that there is some bennifit to "raising" the skimmer in your sump... I have a couple inches head room under my tank what would be the reason for raising the skimmer?

Some protein skimmers have their outlet low on the side of the skimmer chamber. If the outlet is lower than the water level in the sump, the skimmer will not drain properly. It is only a concern on some skimmers. If you skimmer outlet is above your sump level, you are probably OK.

so on my ASM g2 I have no worries unless the spot where the water flows out is submerged? sweet I wont mess with it then THANKS!

look up the model of your skimmer or call the manufacture. skimmers have a proper water level to run there best. that is the only reason to raise the skimmer control the water level.

Is it working? An ASM G2 should have a full cup of dark coffee skimmate per week. Or, at least, that is what I have.
