Skimmer .Reasons for price.

I have a 240 gallon tank with 30 fish in it. I was looking at skimmers a year ago and many store reps and company employees had me looking at some huge skimmers. Octopus 6000 and 8000. I was using a becket at the time. NYOS 220, some other skimmers rated for 500+ gallons because my tank has a "heavy" bioload. I went with the BK double cone 200. Rated for a heavy stocked 250 gallon tank. Thinking I would be pushing the limits of the skimmer, it was what was advised as far as size. Well let me say this, I run it in deeper water and higher speed than normal because my load isn't enough for it. It sits idle sometimes if I don't run it a little wetter. So I think tank ratings can be wrong in some cases. One manufacture had me looking at a skimmer with a12 in body rated for 800 gallons, 3 times my tank size.
