Skimmer recommendation?

Hey Roger and anybody else in the Tunze forum,

I am looking to put a Tunze skimmer on my system, but somewhat unsure of which model/accessories to get.

My tank is a 90 gallon (possible upgrade to 120 in the works) SPS tank with about 4 fish as well. Sump space is tight, which is yet another reason I considered Tunze.

Would it be better for me to go with:

9010
9010 with foam extractor
9015
9020

Many people have said that the 9010 with foam extractor is superior to the 9015. Also, the 9015 is a 9010 body with a taller cup which allows you to increase airflow to increase foam column?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

With SPS the bigger the skimmer in general the better off you will be in terms of coloration of the corals. I agree with the 9010 with foam extractor being superior to the 9015 but you must be able to use the extractor in your set up, i.e. the sump should be short enough to allow a hose to go over the side and into the bucket and you need to able to remove the extractor for cleaning. You must also have room for the bucket to collect the waste.

The 9020 or 9420 would also be excellent choices but the 9420 is considerably larger.

Thanks for the quick feedback Roger! If I keep my current sump setup, I think I will go with the 9010 and foam extractor. I am planning on building a bigger stand (AGA pine stands are too horrible for words), so maybe I can incorporate some room for an external skimmer.
