I HAVE A 55 REEF AND AM CURRENTLY LOOKING TO UPGRADE MY SKIMMER I HAVE A SEACLONE NOW AND THEY ARE JUNK TOO MANY BUBBLES ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ARE HELPFUL COST IS ALSO A FACTOR

If cost is a factor, what is your budget.

Given your experience level I suspect your budget is in the $100-$200 range.

What say you?

BTW, it is bad netiquette to use ALL CAPS.

For your size tank an entry to moderate level skimmer will cost $50 - $600.

I HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN DOING THIS 2.5 YEARS BUT I HAVENT UPDATED MY PROFILE AND I AM WONDERING ABOUT WHICH BRAND TO GO WITH MY TANK DOES VERY WELL I HAVE SOLD SOME FRAGS I JUST WANT A BETTER SKIMMER

It makes it seem like

YOU ARE YELLING AT PEOPLE! :furious:

Turn it of and you are "speaking" in a normal tone of voice. :)

i am sorry i need information though and i just didnt realize it was on i type alot in caps i will hold onto the thought of no caps so i dont seem mad thanks

I'm not much of a HOB Skimmer guy, but in that price range, a Coralife Super Skimmer 125 or 220.

I would definately NOT recommend the 125 or 220. The HOB 220 that I have on my 110 ref now is horrible. It produces sooo many bubbles that halfof my tank is filled with them. My Fish will not even swim on that side of the tank. Now I just turn the skimmer on at night while they are sleeping.I t may not be the best remedy, but thats what I have to do until I buy a new sump and smaller footprint skimmer. My current sump will not fit for the 220.

Which is (one) reason I dont like HOB skimmers. Skimmers make bubbles and belong in a sump, not a display.
