Skimmer Suggestions

Can anyone suggest a skimmer for a 93 gallon aquarium? I need something outside the sump and around $300 - $400.

I can't seem to find that skimmer for less than $500. Know anywhere I can look? Super Reef Octopus XP-2000 EXT correct? I could actually fit either the Super Reef Octopus 1000 Internal Protein Skimmer or the Reef Octopus Extreme XS160 In Sump Skimmer in my sump. Would either of them be adequate?

The OP is looking for an external.

External skimmers are more expensive than internals The SRO 2000 EXT (not XP EXT) is less expensive, but not $400.

Sorry, missed that you needed external. The external pump puts you in a tight spot if you are looking for something under $300.

Actually it looks like I can fit either the SWC 160 Cone or the Reef Octopus Extreme XS160 in my sump. The skimmer compartment is 8.5" wide. I can get the Reef Octopus Extreme XS160 at my LFS for $144 after a 30% off coupon and some store credit but which is the better skimmer?

That would be a whole other arguement. People swear by each one. I am a SWC lover myself. If you can get it that cheap then I would just go with the Octopus. I am just not a fan of their pumps, just me though.

The new XS skimmers use the new Sicce Syncra PSK 600 which are better than the 2500s of old. Ive definitely seen mixed reviews of the atman pumps that SWC uses. For $144, I wouldn't think twice.

I havent seen the new sicce's in action but I was not happen with mine on the MSX200. I dont have the atman pump either. I went with the Askoll. Amazing!!!
