I have a Super Reef Octopus 1000 currently "œbreaking in" and I have a few questions:
1) The instructions say the break in process takes 3-4 weeks, in the meantime is it normal that I have micro-bubbles everywhere?
This is my first in-sump skimmer and I don't recall this problem with a HOB Remora.
2) I'm feeling a little dumb asking the second question but I need this clarification, during the initial setup I should keep the water level inside the skimmer an inch above where the neck transition starts. What should I consider the "œtransition"? The base of the collection cup?
3) The water level in the sump is just below the water outlet and this makes a kind of loud waterfall, can I use a 90 deg elbow in the outlet pointed down so the drain is quieter? Or can I lower the skimmer so the water outlet is submerged?
