Skimmer Trouble

I am still having problems with my new Octopus Extreme 160 unfortunatly. The skimmer has settled down it is not overflowing any more but there are a lot of micro bubbles coming out of the outlet tube and getting into my DT. I have read your responses on RC to other peoples similar problems and have tried to see if I could use with my own problem but no. I have been using craft type pillow stuffing for my filter media which worked great. I thought maybe there was something in the stuffing that was getting into the water and causing the skimmer to make these micro bubbles but I removed it several days ago and have seen no change. The only additive I use is Reef Solution,Lugol Solution,DT phytoplankton. I have used some glue for aquascaping but that has been at least a month ago since that was last used. I have attached some pics of what is happening I hope you can help.

Thanks,

first thing i notice is hte water level is too low. Should be around 8 inches for the 160. But still. some of the food might be doing this . It something in your water. They usually break in fairly quickly.

David-

Sent an email over to you on this.

It looks like the skimmer is overflowing because of an additive or something else in the water as mojo mentioned. It could be stress coat you added, epoxy for coral frags, etc.

I had to do a couple water changes once when I used epoxy. MAde my skimmer do the same thing.

I'm glad I found this thread because I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why suddenly I was getting so many micro bubbles coming out of the Outlet tube. I have the same situation as uwtrauma1. My 160 has been running great since I got it 2 months ago. Tonight I was adding some sps to my DT and used some aquarium epoxy to glue the frags to the rocks. That is exactly when the output tube was throwing out so many bubbles. There was a mist coming off the water in my sump lol. Nice to know that the epoxy was the cause. My skimmer is off for the night and my carbon should remove from the water the cause for making it go nuts. I'll try it again tomorrow.

Thanks everyone
