Is a skimmer nessecary in my new 12gal with rock, kenyas, & small pallys?

If so, anyone got one i can take off your hands?

A lot of people run tanks without skimmers. The main thing is to get the waste out of the tank and the best way to do it is by water changes if you will not have a skimmer doing it.
Most nano tanks are skimmerless and get weekly or bi-weekly water changes so they do not get toxic. It happens very quickly with such small amounts of water. The nice thing is that in your 12 gal tank there is probably only 8-9 gallons of water volume and a 25% water change is just 2 gallons or so. If you mix up 3-4 gallons and change out that much it is a 40-50% water change. The new water will also help keep your calcium and alkalinity in check as well as magnesium and other minerals.

There is a great Nano Reef section of ReefCentral if you need any specific info. Check it out here--- > http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=75

Hope that helps
