Skimming wet or dry?

This question is for all you sps keepers with awesome colorings. Do you guys skim wet or dry? How much do you skim a day?
Thanks

I skim medium (not the answer you are looking for, but true).

I put a larger pump on my euro, did the gate mod, then turned up the performance to really wet skim. Over time, I found i was running my tank too sterile (other things contributed) and one of the things I did was back off of the super wet skimming.

Been happy since.

You could have just fed more; I bet that would have made your SPS very happy. No nutrients rotting, and fresh supply of new food to consume!

I skim super wet 2-3 gallons per day. When I go away I dial back my skimmer to skim 4 gallons over a weeks time. When I return I can really see the difference, the glass is very dirty, particles are floating around, and the water looks a little "off". I skim super wet for a few days and is back to normal.

:D I like it wet :D

It is most likely very light tea colored. I like to skim dry. I empty about 3 gallons a month so I don't constantly have to empty the container. Plus that is how my skimmer is meant to be run. Thanks, Tim

Skim 2-3 gallons per DAY!?

That is incredible!

What color skimmate?

Its very light, like green tea. It has big chunks of waste on the bottom of the bucket. To me thats the benefit of wet skimming, to get out as much waste as possible before it breaks down. A couple of facts to consider:

My system is 400g so its not a large %

It's also my water change method. I add 2-3 gallons per day.

I guess I am sort of like kip in regards to skimming. I skim wet for a few days then dry for a few days. I have found doing everything in moderation and keeping the tank stable is really helping my corals color up nicely. I like to keep all water parameters near NSW.
