Skimz skimmer tuning,

I swear, last thread I'll start tonight, I promise,

Just got my skimmer today, by the end of the day it was pulling out some wet stuff...I assume, my first skimmer lol, can anybody tell me how to get it tuned to the dry stuff erebody loves so much ?

Most skimmers have a break-in period...You will initially see bazillions of micro-bubbles in the chamber, and as it matures, you'll start to see more of the larger, "oily" bubbles rising to the top. I try to dial it in to where those larger bubbles just kiss the top rim of the chamber. When they *PoP!*, the dissolved organics dribble down into the collection cup giving you that darker, more concentrated nastiness!

Just keep an eye on it and continue to dial it in during the break-in period. You will eventually find its sweet spot.

Kk, I'm a fiddly person by nature, so either this hobby will break me of that or I'll beak thousands of dollars lol

My new skimz sm201 internal skimmer is now 3 days old.. Here is what seems to be the trick to get it in the simi correct location
1 with the skimmer turned unplugged .. Turn the air valve clockwise to shut all the air off. Open it about 3/4 to 1 turn. This will be about half way out of the valve.
2. Turn gate Valve near wide open
3. turn on skimmer and let it set for a hour .
4.Slowly close the gate valve. Give 5-10 minutes between each adjustment.Close the gate by turning Counter clockwise until you see the foam/ bubbles reach the neck half way between the white wing that holds the Collection cup on and the bottom of the collection cup.
5. Wait for at least 3-4 hours until you see nothing but foam in the neck by looking down thru the top.
6. Once you start getting Dirty looking foam that is no longer rising higher in the neck. Slowly close the AIR Valve. Super tiny amount.
NOTE.. If the foam or bubbles is still below the bottom of the collection cup you may need to turn the gate valve slightly counter clockwise before adjusting the air.
Hope this helps. remember if you move either of the air valve or gate valve more then a pinch either way past number 6 above. you will likely need to start over..
The above is from dealing with other skimmers and from the understanding this skimmer has a way over powered air pump..
.. Oh one more think. a good way to tell if you have too much air bubbles is to look at the skimmer body right where the body starts to cone . it should look white inside with very little turbulence . Mine looks almost like its painted white once i got it adjusted close to right.. but still working on it ...
