Skunk Cleaner Shrimps breeding

Hey Everyone,

I noticed a green mass under one of the shrimps tail and now I can clearly see they are eggs. Anyone have any experience with this? I just recently started my tank and I am no where ready or educated for this. When should I expect them to hatch? how do you raise shrimps? What tools do I need? How difficult is it raising newly hatched shrimps? If I am missing anything, please feel free to add it.

Thanks,
Al

They usually hatch in the middle of the night, almost impossible to raise ( I havent seen anyone that have done it). Mine are usually eaten by the fish, or kill by the pumps and skimmer.

That's unfortunate... I guessing the newly hatched shrimps eat rotifiers just like fish. It would be nice to save a couple. How long do they take to hatch?

they hatch about 6-7 days after laying. I've never managed to keep the babies going more than 10 days. They have a veeerrrryyyyyy long pelagic stage ( months). You would need a kreisel - type rearing vat. Definitely not the best creature to get your feet wet breeding.

Thanks for the input everyone. I don't think I'll be persuing this any further atleast until I have the proper equipment and training.
