skunk shrimp question

I recently put a small skunk shrimp in my tank and he did fine soon as he went in. almost instantly he was cleaning fish and a few days later he is no where to be found. I've had them before and they lived for a couple years. My tank has been established for 3 1/2 years and all my parameters are fine. What might be the cause of his disappearance? Could he be hiding since he is small and new to the tank? Thanks.

What kind of fish do you have in this tank?

its a 180 gallon with a yellow tang, sailfin tang, hippo tang, 4 chromis, pajama cardinal, yellow anthias, flame angel, and two false perc clowns.

He could very well be molting. They tend to get very reclusive when they are in this vulnerable state. Give him a bit of time and look for his castings around the tank bottom.

yeah, he finally popped out from behind the rock like nothing was wrong and started cleaning fish again.
