Skyway Nassarius

Is there a difference in the cerith snails? I've been seeing thousands of the little 1/2"ish ones on the intercoastal. Read somewhere they are not the same as the larger ones... Not sure if it was a sales pitch or if there was some truth to it....

The last time I went down to the Skyway I hit the N. rest area and walked the grass flats, never really got past knee deep. If you are still heading out today let me know. I've got a Kayak but no way to get it there. We could have a kayak crew.
 
Tasty! Lots & lots of cerith where I was yesterday... Need to go frolic in the grass flats & see if I can hunt some Nass. down.

Did you get them off the rocks? or in the grasses? I've got lots of nass's but no ceriths and I feel like huntin' me some cerith shell!
 
Chris, sounds good, they are in QT more or less in a bucket right now. the only limit is the bag limit, but it is a 3 minute walk, so i can stock up :)

LadyFSU, I went to a beachy area on the Intercoastal, during the outgoing tide they were everywhere at the edge of the water. I went for ones that were still submerged.

This was from a previous skyway trip, mostly Nasarius, a few marginellas too I think.(ID'ing is tough)
 
yes, if you dont know what it is dont take it. ask alzarin he pretty much knows what you can get that is safe. lol andy tell them about that pink conch we found last time. picture that in a tank lol

hardy har har!!! LOL if you don't want them, give them away or throw them away. We just got about 8 buckets of salt so we are set in the bucket area seeing as we already had about 15 :D !!!
 
oh, well then lol i thought you needed them. speaking of needing, do you have any nice rocks you wanna get rid of? im starting a ten so I need to get a few rocks and a little sand from somewhere. you wanna hook me up with a visitor pass, and i could deliver you some freshly cut xenia for fragging for your classes?

they are Pagurus longicarpus. aggressive toward other hermits and like stated will fight alot when it comes to chosing a shell. great algae eaters
 
no no lol they are the same as the regular blue legs. the aggressive ones are white and have vertical brown lines. they get much larger and are f ing crazy lol you will know if you have one they are like hyper as hell lol. the small grey ones are fine, I have never ever seen one do anything more agressive than a blue. BUT I had the other one and he was cool for a while then I found him one day, over an upturned shell, and everytime the other crab stuck his head out he would swoop down with his claw and try to pinch it off lol
