SLASH Coral Growing Contest: Raspberry Ice Acropora

Mine's been losing color too. I'm new to the SPS world, so I'm not sure where to even start looking at what the issue might be. I need to redo my water tests. Figured out last week my Mg was low, so I upped that and then retested my Ca and Alk. They were both good. Lighting not bright enough? Water flow not high enough? Not enough food?

Where do I begin?

ummmmm you need to try to keep your Mag, Alk, and Calcium as constant as possible. i keep my Alk at righ taround 8.5. my calcium is around 435 and my mag is right around 1350. i am goign to test again tonight because its been a while. lol I wouldnt put it too close to the lights if you have LEDs and flow i would keep relatively high... but dont blast it with a powerhead

Apparently mine is still alive! I moved it from the led tank to the halide tank in hopes oof getting some growth.

My last frag in my frag tank hasn't seemed to get any bigger since I gave out all the corals... But the colony is freaking out of control

Mine is browned out and bleached at the top but I think it's coming back. Or it may just be algae growth. I'll try to take a picture.

well jeez mpgrant or frogspawn i think may be the leaders here... you guys should all go get some coral HGH or steroids and start juicing these acros!

If I can find a strong enough magnifying glass I'll try to take a pic of where I think it is, but it might just be coralline algae:)

I think the white looking stuff means my coral chip is no longer with us. I don't like failing.

But it means I need to learn a bit more about this hobby before I try again.

So should I leave that frag in there? You know, just in case it's not really dead.
