Exactly!!!! I really don't see what the issue was here to begin with. This club was started with the best of intentions, some things had to be done without user intervention, this was one of the first things done. Why it had to be made into such a dramatic thing is beyond me.

I like the current logo of the Mantis as is it fits the name of the club, and Stomatopods are unique critters, kinda like this club.
As a T-shirt, the Mantis logo on the left breast of the front, with the clownfish/arch logo across the back would be great.

I would like to withdrawl any postings I've made on this thread. What I was saying and what others were saying are not the same and I think this thread has turned a wrong way so I'd simply prefer not to be part of it. I have no problems with the current logo as stated earlier but I will leave it up to whoever, Board Members or a vote through members. I just want to stay out of it all.
I never posted with intentions of stirring anything up or just to be a pain so I'd like to apologize if it bothered anyone!

Bottom line here folks, is that we are here as friends. A certain amount of trust in the board members who have founded this club would be appreciated. We have spent countless hours in talks forming this club and dedicating our time, effort and hearts into making it something that other hobbyists in Saint Louis would want to be a part of.
I want to go to pizza night and be on friendly terms with everyone, not worrying about who is unhappy with what....should we have done the logo as a club function versus on our own? Maybe. But, we didn't have members back then and we were trying to give you guys/gals something for your money>>> A membership card that features a cool logo so you can get discounts at some of the LFS who are our sponsors.
Believe me when I tell you that our intentions are good, we are not plotting behind your backs or trying to pull the wool over your eyes....we simply want to make this club a lot of fun for everyone and keep it friendly. If I wanted politics, I could run for a local government position
I think that most of the people here do not want politics or threads that divide our new group into splinters. Perhaps it is time we all head to MS on Thursday and then tip back a few :beer: afterwards to heal these wounds
I would ask that you guys give us the benefit of the doubt as the founding board of directors. We are dedicated to giving you the best club possible and all we ask is that you give us a chance. If you do not like us and want to do a better job, then feel free to run for office next year at the election. We are trying to get things going and these types of attacks are not going to help.

Howard this is SLASH forum but still on Reefcentral, so it still hs the same rules. I never attacked anyone in this thread or on this forum.

Let's not roll backwards here...no one was attacking anyone. We are all adults here..well except for Trottie, but he is growing. lol
One of the things that will make this club great is the ability to speak our minds in an open forum. That is not the way things are usually done but we will do it that way. It won't always be pretty but it will make us stronger as a group.

It is a club for members, unless I missed something. I was also just speaking my mind too! I thought it was silly to argue about a logo, which does not seem that huge to me in the scheme of things. Everyone on here has the right to speak their opinion. I just thought we were getting kind of side tracked on this issue.
